Mobility for the displaced of the Kanto-Tohoku Earthquake

プロジェクト
The Project

The First Phase of the “Catastrophe of the Century’s” aftermath, the “Rescue Phase” is finished. All basic needs of the sufferers, like food and shelter, have been covered. We are now entering the Second Phase, the “Remedy Phase”, getting the people out of the shelters into temporary housing and helping them to get their lives back on track, followed by the “Recovery Phase”.

While the situation, apart from the events in the destroyed nuclear power plant Fukushima1, is no longer in the headlines of the media, the situation itself has not much changed for the displaced people. Most of them are still in mass shelters. Slowly but steadily, they will move to temporary housing. Unfortunately these housing complexes are frequently quite far and inconveniently placed from town centers. This is a major problem in spread out Tohoku.

Our project “DoCoDeMo Eco Car” (The Everywhere Car) will help these people to get their lives back on track by providing mobility free of charge with shared-use cars placed at the temporary housing complexes. Read on, how you can help to bring these plans to reality.
